quiet mall

Shopping malls and public area are always crowded with people. This statement is not for Pangrango Plaza. You will find circumstances as you see in the picture “quiet”. Don’t really know what’s wrong with the mall.

cloudy situgede

my house is close to this lake, so i often come to this place for relaxing and spending time. it was a bit cloudy at that time.

green rambutan

even this rambutan is greener and not as hairy as than the normal one, it tastes sweeter. it's known as rambutan rapiah.

tugu kujang in the morning

It’s infrequent view, having tugu kujang in the morning with very clear background (the top of mt. salak). In the morning, especially during rainy season the view is always cloudy and foggy.

nursery exhibition

there are a lot of commercial nurseries in bogor. here is an exhibition event to introducing those nurseries. they are please to show their own unique plants and sell them here.

the same statue as this one, but taken at night. i like it better at night. because of the darkness and the light, it looked more stunning.

lead to mango season

The flowering season of mango trees is at the beginning of the rainy season and the fruits ripen at the end of the rainy season (cited from here). Now we are on the middle of rainy season and the picture is the flower of mango trees, it means that we are leading to the mango season.

sekoteng

Sekoteng is traditional drink originally from central of java but you can find it in many areas in Indonesia especially in java including here in Bogor. Sekoteng is usually sold by a street vendor during the night. Sekoteng has a ginger taste and serve while still hot. It’s also has other ingredients such as mung bean, peanut and bread.

closer look at kacang bogor

kacang bogor has a rounded shape compare to common peanuts.
and if you buy the nuts, the seller will pack them in cone shape packages!

Traditional Plowing

Traditional plowing practices of a paddy field. A farmer using and steering his cow while tilling his paddy field. I found this nice view in Sentul, Bogor where big land slide and land creeping occurred in February 2007 due to heavy rainfall and unstable geology structure.

gorengan

you can find banana, tempe, tofu, talas, sukun (Artocarpus altilis), mix vegetable on flour etc, where all are fried here. and we call it gorengan (fried snacks).

rambutan season

we're having rambutan season since a couple months ago. during this time of the year, you can see mount of rambutans for sale everywhere.
the name of rambutan came from the word rambut (hair), so rambutan means the hairy fruit.

for those who'll going to say something with flower.

hair bandeau

choose your favorite color of hair band. i don't want any of them. too sparkling for my taste.

kacang bogor

kacang means peanut. this man was selling steamed peanut on a traditional steamer trolley box. this kind of peanut is originally from bogor and known as kacang bogor.

pempek

pempek is a famous food from the city of palembang in south sumatera. it made of fish and flour, dipped in black vinegar sauce.

i read somewhere, the best pempek in bogor is the one in front of ngesti supermarket. when i was there, i couldn't get any seat. i sat on the walkway and having this plate on my lap.

selling burger

yes, we have burger, the local recipe one. the price is less then 1$.
the taste is.. not bad ;) but i like it.. with extra chilly sauce and mayonnaise..

dendrobium hybrid orchid. taken on dadali street where many people selling plants along the street.

the crowd during cap go meh celebration

cap go meh is celebrated 15 days after chinese new year. there was "barongsai" (a dragon dancing) here before, but i missed it. the crowds were waiting for other shows from dhanagun temple.

at pasar malam (night market) near my house.
it doesn't have rotating machine, instead it's rotated by hand and the passengers are only for children

here is the interior of kedai telapak, by the bar table. everything is green, including the uniform of the staffs.

graffiti in the forest

we were too late signing up for the daily theme, so we're not linked.
but here is the photo of some graffitis inside an abandon building located in cifor forest. the place is very spooky at night, so it's often use as the set of horror movies.
