old house

in bogor, you still can find old houses from the dutch colonial times. but sadly, many of them were renovated into modern style buildings. the one in the photo still keep the old style. the house is for sale. i hope the new owner will keep the style.

i want toast

it's "roti bakar", toasted bread with many selection of filings: chocolate, peanut butter, pineapple and strawberry jam, cheese, etc.
me? i prefer chocolate or cheese.

cappuccino at j.co

j.co is famous for their donuts. but if you buy any drink there, you'll get one free donut. you can't see the donut in the photo because it was already eaten, only the cappuccino is there.

a walk to remember

a pathway at cifor forest.. again..
i used to walk here in the morning.. enjoying the shade.. looking for the ray of light, and any forest creatures (except the snakes).

water lily to be

i found this big clay pot in front of katulampa handicraft center. at that moment, there were only leaves. later, the flower is hopefully will be like this.

rattan

in a rattan shop on cilendek street. the raw material for these furnitures came from borneo.

fishing

the guys proudly present me the fish they sucessfully catch from the pond next to them. in bogor, you can find some ponds for fishing.

during chinese new year at plaza ekalokasari.

risoles

risoles is one of my all time favorite food. inside the risoles can be anything: chicken, vegetable or bihun (vermicelli noodle). we eat the food with chili ketchup, peanut sauce, or just simply with green little chili like in the photo.

inside the train

it's bogor-jakarta train, express class, air conditioned and far better then the economic one..
it takes about 1 hour to get to jakarta.

purple lily

i don't know the exact name of the flower, so i just call it purple lily. when i was a kid, living in bandung, we had this flower planted on the front yard.
this one was taken on dadali street.

salak tree

this palm looks alike tree produces snake fruit (salak). see the photo of the fruit here.

selling fruit along jasmin street

along jasmin street, you can find people selling fruit. banana the all season fruit is always there. there are also talas, the typical fruit/vegetable from bogor.

old bicycle lovers

the name of these antique bicycles are sepeda onthel. they're so old, some of them were made in the 1920s. the old people who own them were so friendly, we were invited to get in while taking photo from the outside. it was on cilendek street.

coconut

i found this pile of coconuts outside a warung. they'll be turn into a ice coconut drink.

minaret

minaret is part of a mosque. in the old time, people go up there to call people to pray. now, only a speaker is placed there. you can see the background is the typical bogor's cloudy sky.

martabak telor maker

martabak telor is a food, it's something like fried egg wrapped by a layer of dough.
anyway, the interesting about the martabak telor maker is, they always play an acrobatic movement with the dough before it's filled with egg and fried.

kedai telapak

the cafe has green theme. from the outside, you can see they put green on the window frames. in the inside, there are even more green stuffs. we love to come here because they have free wireless internet.

at ekalokasari plaza, still in chinese new year theme as the background.

happy chinese new year

not only a few years ago, people can celebrate chinese year in indonesia. before, it was forbidden. this is good for me because we get one day off now!

raise the red lanterns

chinese new year is coming. here are the lanterns at dhanagun temple, near bogor market, across botanical garden gate 1.

mie ayam bangka

a bowl of bangka chicken noodle, served with bakso (meatball). you can buy it here.

museum pembela tanah air (peta)

located at sudirman street, it's an army museum. you can found the history of indonesian army there. it's one of tourist object showed on this direction.

small fishes in small ponds

the situation of these fishes on the side road of empang street. they're places in buckets according to their types and sizes.

purple leaves

the plant has purple leaves. weird but beautiful...

when people think of my city, they think of.... rain!

yes, we have more rain here than most places in the world. during the rain season, no day is passed without rain. that's why bogor city is also known as “the rain city”, as the city has high rainfall rate 3,500 to 4,000 mm/year.
for comparison, new york = 1173 mm/year, sydney = 1094 mm/year, bergen in Norway = 2250 mm/year (source).
